One More Needed!
Greetings PawSox Fans!
If you weren’t at McCoy Stadium last night, shame on you! You missed an awesome PawSox win to lead the series 2-1. The PawSox beat the Wings 5-1. The good news is you can redeem yourself by heading there tonight for a 6:05 game, gates open at 4:05. If the PawSox win tonight, they will head to Durham to play the Durham Bulls on Tuesday. The Bulls swept the series against the Indianapolis Indians last night.
The PawSox will send former 1st round draft pick Matt Barnes to the hill tonight against the Red Wings Scott Diamond. Tickets are available online, by calling 401-724-7300 or right at the box office. Ticket prices are priced the same as the regular season. The forecast is calling for perfect baseball weather with a game time temp just around 73 degrees.
I asked PawSox photographer Jillian Souza if she could send me some of her photos from the game, and she obliged. Thanks Jillian for the great shots. Knuckleballer Steven Wright was the starting pitcher for the PawSox. It’s often said that the knuckle ball is hard to catch let alone hit. Some experts say the best way to catch a knuckleball is to wait until it stops rolling, and then pick it up.
I’m sure we all remember former Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield and his knuckleball and how Doug Mirabelli somehow knew how to keep the ball in his mitt. Remember the special police escort to Fenway to get Mirabelli to catch for Wakefield? Steven Wright chalked up the win last night with his “dancing” pitch.
In the second inning Dan Butler smacked a base hit and took second on a throwing error. Brock Holt also singled and Butler scored giving the PawSox a 1-0 lead and Butler headed to the dugout and dished out some fist bumps. From that point, the PawSox never relinquished the lead.
Ryan Rowland-Smith closed out the game and secured the victory.
Will champagne be uncorked and sprayed this evening? Will the PawSox head to Durham to take on the Bulls? Will the fans be standing and cheering loudly? Paws and Sox will be there! Music, fun and excitement will fill McCoy Stadium tonight. Looking to go out for dinner on Saturday night? Have your dinner at the ballpark! Very affordable dinner, very affordable entertainment, it’s a no brainer! Hope to see you there where you will clearly see we are always……………”Here For You!”
Love hearing from you!
Yours in Baseball,
