ONE MORE TRIP SOUTH!
Hello PawSox Fans!
Just in case you’re unaware, the PawSox won game two of their five game series against the Charlotte Knights last evening at McCoy Stadium in the Governor’s Cup final.
After the game we would once again head back to Charlotte to finish off the series. It was agreed upon that we would also take all the gear and equipment of the Knights and the umpires. I would need a bigger truck! One call to Penske and Big Bertha was delivered! (Big Bertha was perfect!)
It was a bittersweet time after the game last night. Although everyone was very happy the PawSox won, it was the last home game for the 2012 season. There were many hugs and good wishes to our season ticket holders and fans that will all be glued to their computers and radios tonight to listen in on the PawSox game.
If the PawSox do win tonight, the Triple A National Championship game will be held on September 18th in Durham, N.C. McCoy Stadium will be open for that game and fans can watch the game on the state of the art huge, high def. video board.
The National Championship game will be against the winner of the Pacific Coast League champions. Currently the PCL series is tied at one game each for the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Triple A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and the Reno Aces, the Triple A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
We get Big Bertha loaded as quick as possible. With both teams and umpires equipment being transported in Big Bertha, it adds to the pressure. You recall the last trip down here was a 30 hour journey. Can you imagine both teams and umpires just hanging around at the ball park waiting for us?
Fortunately, it was one of the best trips of the season. Big Bertha was smooth as silk. The weather was perfect, traffic was almost always light and even the construction zones weren’t that bad. The Baseball Gods were certainly watching over us.
Before departing McCoy Stadium I spoke with two of our awesome fans and loyal blog readers who presented Lou and me with a very special gift. Having read about the previous jellybean dilemma, they presented us with these fantastic containers that fit perfectly in the cup holders of Bertha. Look at these things! It truly is a thing of beauty!
Thanks guys! Look forward to seeing you and your family during the off-season. That was indeed a very thoughtful gift.
Thanks to all the fans that supported the PawSox during the 2012 season. It was a fun and exciting season and I truly enjoyed all the laughs we shared. Once the championship is over, we all prepare for the 2013 season.
Always check for any special events happening at McCoy. Before you know it, the Christmas catalogues will be tossed on our lawn along with the many leaves that have fallen from the trees.
There’s still more baseball to play and we are all still……..”Here For You!”
Love hearing from you!
Yours in Baseball,
Rick Medeiros
