Pawtucket to Portland———–”You don’t wanna miss this Trip!”
Hello PawSox Fans!
A few years ago the PawSox hosted a Fan Road Trip to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame and watch the PawSox take on the Syracuse Chiefs. The trip was very successful and everyone had an awesome time!
The PawSox will host another Road Trip this season on June 30th to see the Double A Portland Sea Dogs take on the Trenton Thunder, the Yankees Double A affiliate.
We will board a Tremblay Luxury Coach right here at McCoy Stadium and be on the road by 9:30 am Saturday morning.
It’s about a 3 hour ride to Portland, Maine which gives everyone a chance to enjoy an “in bus movie.” During the nice relaxing ride.
Upon arrival we will check into our host hotel the Merry Manor Inn.
They have a beautiful pool, both inside and out!
An awesome Jacuzzi.
After everyone gets settled and works up an appetite, we will take the very short drive to Hadlock Field.
At the field we will head to the picnic are where we will munch on All-You-Can-Eat Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, BBQ Pulled Chicken, Beans, Cole Slaw, assorted Coca-Cola products and Sea Dogs Ice Cream Biscuits! (This feast will start one hour before the game and continue one hour into the game!)
Boston Bruin tough guy Shawn Thorton is scheduled to be at the game to sign autographs and pose for photos.
OUCH!
After the game and hopefully a Sea Dogs win, we will head back to the hotel. We will have a room available at the hotel after the game for those who are not yet ready for bed. It has been rumored there will be playing cards there and some poker chips. Of course no real money will be used.
Perhaps those still not ready for bed would want to order out some wings, pizza or other late night snacks. After that, time for nite nite!
After waking up in the beautiful State of Maine, you grab a coffee and take a very refreshing and invigorating shower! (Showering is strongly encouraged!) After smelling fresh and clean we take another very short bus ride to DiMillio’s Restaurant on the water.
The Restaurant is an old ferry. It is the same ferry that used to run from Newport to Jamestown. I remember taking the ferry to grandma’s house with I was a very young boy.
We will indulge in a fantastic lite buffet lunch. Here is the menu:

Once done with this delicious lunch, you can visit the many attractions right in downtown Portland for a couple of hours before we head back home. This is one of those trips you don’t want to miss!
