Hello PawSox Fans!
Yesterday morning, Saturday, December 18th, Santa Paws and I headed to Citizens For Citizens located in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Citizens For Citizens is a great agency that lends a helping hand to those in need. Today is the annual “Operation Christmas!” Families pre-register and are given Christmas gifts for the children to help make their Christmas a happy time and a little brighter.
Throughout the year they solicit gifts and monies from businesses and private donors to make it possible. Two weeks ago, they held their annual Operation Christmas Telethon at the Harbor Mall. The Telethon runs for three days with the dedicated volunteers and F.R.E.D. TV who make it all possible. (FRED TV is a group of students from Durfee High School who film, produce and edit videos. The Paws and Sox videos you see for the soft toss every game was made by the students of FRED TV.)
When we arrive, the folks are lined up down the sidewalk. The offices and building have been transformed into a giant toy store. Santa Paws meets with the folks in line. He hands out Beanie Babies to the kids in line.
Santa Paws takes a quick break from helping unload the truck and poses for a photo.
Santa Paws heads into the building and meets with Barbara Travis who spearheads Operation Christmas and is a big PawSox fan. Barbara is full of energy and caring! Always with a smile and willing to help others.
Santa Paws meet some of the many volunteers who are a huge help in making it all work.
He gets a Christmas hug from one of the volunteers who fills the bags for the families.
They have a room full of scarves, gloves and winter hats that every kid gets.
Barbara gives Santa Paws a scarf to wear outside.
They have a room filled with books.
They have some awesome gifts.
For all ages!
It was a great day for everyone! Spending the day with a ton of PawSox fans is a cant miss!
Santa Paws wishes all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year. Everyone is looking forward to the 2011 season. If you’re looking for some terrific Christmas gifts, PawSox Flex Tickets make great gifts! Flex Tickets are truly the “Gift that keeps on Giving!”
Have you ever seen the movie Christmas Vacation? Remember when Clark is waiting for a Christmas bonus to install a pool in the back yard and instead gets a membership in the Jelly of the Month Club? The always annoying Eddie tells Clark, ”It’s the gift that keeps on giving”. That movie is always good for some yucks.
Just picture the people who you give the Flex Tickets to.They will be thanking you once again during the summer months as they sit and enjoy all the excitement of McCoy Stadium and watching the PawSox in a FAN-TASTIC family atmosphere!

Each day we move another day closer to opening day. I am hoping this winter passes as swiftly as possible to make way for the summer sun and fun.
Christmas is next week and the hustle and bustle will be over. There are some people who truly enjoy Christmas shopping while others find it very stressful.
People are fighting traffic, yelling from their vehicles, honking the horn and waving at others using just one finger! DONT stress! Enjoy the Holidays! Laugh and have fun with family, friends and PawSox fans!
Speaking on stress, after sending Santa Paws back to his Igloo at the North Pole, I returned home wondering how I was going to get rid of an entertainment center. I had lugged the thing outside but now what? Trash pickup wasn’t done on Saturday and what would the schedule be like for pickup up next week.
What was I going to do? It was a rather clear day, chilly but clear with not much wind. We have a fire pit in our backyard for the campfires. What a great idea! After taking it apart, it burned very well! Problem solved! Please note the garden hose and bucket of water for safety!
Have a stress free and fun Christmas! PawSox tickets ensure you a good time. Cant wait to see you on opening day. Remember, we are……..”Here For You!”
Yours in Baseball,
Rick Medeiros
